Međugorje is a small parish in western Herzegovina, which until 1981 was known only to the residents of the surrounding towns. On June 24th 1981 it became known worldwide. On that day, the day of Saint John, before the eyes of six young people Our Lady appeared. This parish, after this apparition, turns from a small village into a meeting place of pilgrims from all over the world. Shortly after it became the most famous and most visited Marian shrine in southern Europe and a place for prayer and meditation for millions of pilgrims from all around the world.
