Mostar is a city located a short distance from Medjugorje, between the mountains, in the wide valley of the turquoise Neretva River. “Stone city”, as the locals call it, with more than 100,000 inhabitants is the largest city in western Bosnia and Herzegovina. A white stone bridge over the emerald Neretva River and oriental fragrance that floats above the narrow streets are recognizable symbols of the city which attracts crowds of tourists every year.
