Primošten a charming, picturesque town situated on the Adriatic coast, near Trogir. It is a port city with a tourist center which lies on a peninsula between the coves Raduca and Primosten. The main activities of the local population are grape and olive cultivation, fishing and tourism. On the surrounding hills you can find vineyards where famous Babić red wine grape is grown. The city is one of the most beautiful destinations on the east coast. The old town forms a network of narrow streets and on the north and south sides you can find many hotels and a marina. On the small island called “Smokvica” there is a nude beach. During the summer months many cultural events take place here. In the sixteenth century, this island was connected to the mainland, and its name was derived from the word “bridge”. The city is surrounded by the walls and towers which were, unfortunately, destroyed in the nineteenth century.
